Purlins must be of sufficient section to give support between the rafters. Set purlin and rafter centres as detailed in the approved roof designs. The boarded roof deck must be set out according to the dimensions of the roof design prior to fixing. Fix the boarded roof deck to the purlins using top speed drive screws as detailed in the approved roof designs. Ensure that the boarded roof deck is neatly mitered at the valleys, hips, eaves and ridge/apex of the roof.
Apply a line of Bitustik mastic along the eaves. Trim the tabs from the bituminous shingle to form the starter course. Install the first row of shingles. Use large headed stainless steel roofing nails with the shingles. The length of the nail depends on the thickness and type of board being used. Apply 4 stainless steel nails per shingle making sure that the nails anchor the underneath shingle to. For roof pitches exceeding 60° 6 stainless steel nails must be used. The trimming and aligning operations are simplified following the cuts on the upper edge of each bituminous shingle.

Tegometaline’s exclusive production technologies highlight the beauty of copper, which is an ancient and prestigious roofing material that lends unique character to the roof. The use of copper dates back to 2,500 B.C., at a time when owning copper was a synonym for wealth. Already at that time architects had discovered that copper was an extraordinarily efficient roofing material because of its unique characteristics in terms of safety, duration and resistance. The Metal Line features different types of copper and zinc-titanium tiles: Prestige, Prestige Antique, Prestige Gold, Prestige Star and Prestige ZT.
