Installation
Technical specifications
Style windows are produced in 15 different sizes satisfying any need. However, on request, Claus can also produce customized windows. The choice of the window may vary according to several factors: Roof pitch request: minimum 15° to maximun 90°. If the roof has a minimum pitch, it is recommended to choose a long window, which allows you to enjoy a wider view (A).Room shape The choice of the right window depends on the room shape as well (B).
Room surface
In case of large rooms, it is recommended to install several windows in order to have a better light distribution and ventilation (C).
Building code
Consult the relevant building code of the area.
Technical specifications
The window should be placed in the centre of the pitch for a uniform distribution of the light and at a distance between 180 cm and 210 cm from the floor for a perfect manoeuvrability and view (A).
In order to take the maximum advantage of the outside light and to improve air circulation inside the room to avoid condensation, the top window reveal should be horizontal and the bottom reveal should be vertical. Moreover, it is also recommended to install a radiator on the wall under the window. The warm air of the radiator will prevent the formation of mist on the pane (B).
It is recommended to install some bushes for a good ventilation of the window. In case of installation of electrical accessories after the completion of the stonework, the cabling will be very easy.
Handling & Storages
Claus windows are made of carefully selected materials, which ensure their correct functioning in the long term.
However, it's recommended to maintain the wooden parts once a year or whenever needed, especially in very humid rooms like bathrooms and kitchens since the roof windows are subject to long and intense sun exposure, cold weather and strong humidity. Maintenance of the wood part : clean the parts to be treated with a neutral liquid detergent suitable for cleaning external frames, then dry them and apply a layer water-based protective paint.
For the maintenance of its windows :
Claus supplies the Eco Restyler paint. If different products from the ones supplied by Claus are used, follow the manufacturer's instructions very carefully.
Maintenance of the hinges :
Grease or lubricate the hinges to guarantee the smooth movement of the window.
Maintenance of the flashing :
It also recommended to inspect the external flashing once a year to prevent leaves or other objects from clogging it, thus blocking the regular outflow of water

Ergonomic bottom handle on the lower shutter crosspiece for opening and closing the window. Handle lock on the lower frame crosspiece allowing for fully sealed closing or partial opening of the shutter for air exchange.
